The Dota 2 International 2013 tournament has finally come to a close with Alliance emerging as the champion, beating world No. 2 Na’Vi (Natus Vincere) in a five game thriller to win more than $1.4 million in prize money. This was the first time a fifth game was needed to decide the winner. The final game was worthy of being a true final, being one of the most exciting games in the tournament.
Na’vi was the winner of the first International in 2011, and lost to IG (Invictus Gaming) in the finals last year. Alliance on the other hand, was a debutant at the tournament, and lost only one game throughout the league, which was to DK. A narration of the Alliance versus Na’Vi match is posted on the Dota 2 blog. Video is expected soon.
The International 2013 was a five-day tournament held at Benaroya Hall in Seattle from August 7 – 11th. It featured the world’s 16 best Dota 2 teams. The total prize pool was more than $2.8 million. Second placed Na’Vi raked in $619K as prize money. Third place won $281K.

- Invictus Gaming
